What is Chalk Effect? Chalk Effect is a decorative paint term known for its matte, chalky appearance. It is perfect for giving furniture pieces a shabby chic aesthetic, as it dries down to have a distressed look. Designer and entrepreneur Annie Sloan invented chalk paint and coined the term in 1990.

How to use:
Cosmos Lac Chalk Effect Spray Paints have 2 spray injectors (thin and wide).
• Drying in 15 minutes.
• Coverage up to 4m2
• Offers excellent adhesion and durability.
• No primer required.
Instructions:
• Choose a well-ventilated area and place the object you want to paint over nylon protection.
• Ensure that the surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free of loose spots or grease.
• Old wooden furniture may have been polished with wax. Use wire with a little white spirit to clean them before they are painted. Painted wood with color ideally rub it with sandpaper P180 before painting them.
• Mask areas with paper paper that you do not want to paint.
• Apply two hands from the Chalk Effect series with relatively fast movements from a distance of 10-15 cm. Paint first vertically and then horizontally (this is a hand). Wait 10 minutes before painting the next hand.
• For small objects or areas that need detail use the white spray injector (from a distance of 10 cm) that you will find on the package. For larger surfaces and speed use the black injector (from a distance of 15 cm)
• The result of the above steps will be a luxurious and uniform matte surface. If you want to add the effect of natural wear, 1 hour after painting use a thin P180-220 sandpaper and gently rub the areas of color you want to remove, revealing the bare wood below – this usually works best at the edges and corners.
• You can also use 2 different colors, a light base color (Chalk Effect Pure White) and a second color on top. When you rub the outer color instead of the wood will reveal the base color.
• The Chalk Effect series gives a lasting effect that lasts through time. For even more durability use Chalk Varnish of the Chalk Effect series.
