Workshop Title: Drawing Emotions: A Creative Journey for Adults

Objective: Participants will learn techniques for mixed media journaling, combining various artistic mediums on high-quality Midori and MD paper products. They will create a unique journal spread, experimenting with different materials and styles, including stamps and transfer stickers.

Workshop Outline:

Introduction

• Welcome and Introduction: The instructor will introduce themselves and outline the goals of the workshop. A brief overview of Midori and MD paper products will be provided. The concept of mixed media journaling will be explained.

Demonstration

• Setting Up the Page: The instructor will discuss how to choose a theme or prompt for the journal page. Tips on planning the layout, including where to place different elements, will be shared.
• Techniques Overview: A demonstration on using watercolor on MD paper, highlighting its smooth texture and durability, will be conducted. Techniques for layering with colored pencils and fine-liner pens to add depth and detail will be shown. Methods for incorporating collage elements and washi tape for added interest will be illustrated. The use of stamps, transfer stickers, and other embellishments to add texture and dimension will be explained.

Hands-On Activity

• Creating a Journal Spread: Participants will start their own mixed media journal spread. They will be encouraged to experiment with different materials and techniques. Guidance on using stamps and transfer stickers to add unique elements will be provided. Tips on balancing colors, textures, and composition will be shared.

Sharing and Feedback

• Showcasing Creations: Participants will share their journal spreads with the group. They will discuss their creative process and the materials used. Positive feedback will be provided, highlighting unique approaches and techniques.

Conclusion

• Recap and Encouragement: Key techniques and tips discussed in the workshop will be summarized. Participants will be encouraged to continue journaling and experimenting with different materials.
