Workshop Title: Drawing Emotions: A Creative Journey for Adults
Overview: Dive into an immersive workshop designed for adults to explore their inner world and creativity through art. Led by Karlien, a qualified Child Psychotherapist from London, this workshop offers a unique opportunity for participants to express themselves visually in a supportive and inspiring environment. Through engaging activities and guidance, you will learn to draw on your emotions and create artwork that reflects your unique experiences and feelings.
Workshop Agenda:
- Introduction:Welcome and introduction to the workshop theme: "Draw on your emotions." Brief overview of Karlien's background and passion for supporting self-expression through creative arts. Explanation of the workshop goals and objectives.
- Exploring Famous Artworks:Study and discussion of selected famous works of art. Analysis of the emotions conveyed by the artists and what they might be trying to express. Encouragement for participants to share their interpretations and insights.
- Drawing Inspiration from Popular Culture:Exploration of examples from popular culture, such as animations, to spark creativity. Discussion on how different forms of media express emotions and storytelling.
- Creative Drawing Session:Guided drawing session led by Karlien. Encouragement for participants to tap into their own emotions and experiences. Exploration of various drawing materials and techniques. Support and assistance from Karlien to help bring ideas to life. Emphasis on creativity and self-expression, rather than perfection.
- Reflection and Sharing:Group discussion and reflection on the artwork created during the session. Opportunity for participants to share their drawings and the emotions they tried to convey. Encouragement for positive feedback and appreciation of each other's artwork.
- Group Activity: Emotional Expression Circle:Introduction to the Emotional Expression Circle activity. Participants sit in a circle and pass around a large piece of paper. Each participant adds a drawing or mark that represents their current emotion, building on what the previous person added. Discussion about the collective artwork and the range of emotions represented. Reflection on how the collaborative process influenced individual contributions and overall expression.

About the Artist:
Karlien is an artist and child psychotherapist from London, currently on a sabbatical in India. She is proficient in various forms of mixed media techniques and is a certified child psychotherapist.
